Former Arsenal goalkeeper Hubert Graczyk has confirmed that he is now officially a Manchester United player.
Graczyk was mentioned to be on United’s radar early last month but links on that front seemed to have gone cold until a few days ago.
This is after United seemed to confirm his signing via his inclusion in the club’s U21 matchday squad to face Blackburn’s U21s on Friday.
Graczyk started on the bench for United, with Dermot Mee starting between the sticks.
The Manchester Evening News subsequently relayed that United had sealed the signing of Graczyk after he was released by Arsenal.
MEN stated that a deal for the shot-stopper was completed earlier in the summer and he would be formally announced when the Reds publish their Professional Development League squad.
Confirming he has put pen to paper on a contract to join United, Graczyk wrote on Instagram, “Buzzing to have signed for this massive club.”
“Let’s get to work.”
It’s believed that this season, Graczyk is highly likely to play for United’s U21s in Premier League 2.
He will essentially be the club’s fourth-choice goalkeeper after Andre Onana, Altay Bayindir and the vastly experienced Tom Heaton.
The Polish youngster played four games on loan at National League South side Slough Town last season.
Erik ten Hag’s allowed highly-rated academy goalkeeper Elyh Harrison to join National League North outfit Chester on transfer deadline day.
Fellow goalkeeper Radek Vitek was also released to join Blau-Weiß Linz, where he has had a stellar start to life.
Graczyk represented England at under-16, under-17 and under-18 levels before switching international allegiance to Poland.
