Earlier this week, Jurgen Klopp was pictured standing alone at the Kop and the footage went viral – and it turns out he was filming for Liverpool.

Klopp attracted attention on Tuesday when he was pictured at an empty Anfield, standing alone at the Kop in a red and white club scarf.

It has since emerged that the manager was joined by all the staff involved at Liverpool in the final photo, with drone footage showing him running out of the tunnel.

Liverpool have now released the finished footage of the day, with Klopp pictured walking onto the pitch to be greeted by the trophies he has won over the past eight-and-a-half years.

“This is goodbye then,” said Klopp.

“I love absolutely everything about this club. I love everything about the city, I love everything about our fans, I love the team.

“After all the years we spent together, and after all the time we spent together, and after all the things we went through together, respect grew, love grew.

“I came as a normal guy, I’m still a normal guy, I just don’t live a normal life.

“Not only do I feel at home, I am at home. I love Anfield. I love the Enfield when it rocks. We really showed what togetherness can do.

“It’s hard to say goodbye, but let’s remember the good times. I will, forever.

“I will never forget you, all of you. And I’ll miss you like hell. See you.”

The clip lasts four minutes and 57 seconds and perfectly sums up not only Klopp’s time at the club, but also his impact on the city and its people, and the sadness of his departure.

For most, there will never be another manager like Klopp in their lifetime; a true generational leader who can be considered among the best to ever represent Liverpool.

It is only fitting that he is given a proper farewell and Sunday will be a relentlessly emotional day at Anfield.
