Jevon Porter, the younger brother of Denver Nuggets star Michael Porter Jr., is expected to join the Loyola Marymount team for an offseason workout, weeks after a DWI arrest in Missouri, a school spokesman said Tuesday.

Jevon Porter, who transferred from Pepperdine to Loyola Marymount in the spring, was arrested in late April in Boone County (Missouri) on suspicion of DWI, but was released on a summons and not booked into a local jail, according to Missouri State Sgt. Kyle Green.

An official with the Boone County Prosecuting Attorney’s office told ESPN on Tuesday that there is no record of charges being filed against Porter.

“LMU expects Jevon Porter to join the team for summer workouts as normal based on the information available at this time,” Loyola Marymount spokesman Matthew Lerman said in a statement to ESPN on Tuesday.

A 6-foot-11 forward, Jevon averaged 16.2 points and 5.9 rebounds for Pepperdine, which fired former head coach Lorenzo Romer after the season.

Porter will join a Loyola Marymount squad that finished 12-19 during the 2023-24 campaign.

Jonte, Jevon’s brother, was banned from the NBA for life in April for gambling on games, influencing the outcome of bets and providing confidential information to bettors.

Another Porter brother, Coban, was sentenced to six years in prison last year for a drunken driving accident that killed a Colorado woman and seriously injured her passenger, days after the jaunt was banned. According to police records, Coban’s blood alcohol level exceeded 0.19, more than twice the legal limit.
