MOHALL — Nine graduates from Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood High School are sharing in $18,000 in scholarships awarded recently by the Minot Area Community Foundation’s Anna S. and Harold A.C. Bergstrom Scholarship Fund.

The scholarship awards were open to all graduating MLS High School seniors who will be enrolling in a post-secondary institution following high school graduation to pursue a career important to rural North Dakota. The 2024 scholarship recipients receiving $3,000 are Rilynn Beck, Lilly Solemsaas and Jamie Thompson. Recipients receiving $1,500 are Braden Savelkoul, Jasmine Undlin, Lucas Titus, Hanah Overby, Ginger Savelkoul and Kayla Desjardins.

Selection for scholarship awards for the Bergstrom Scholarship Fund were based on the students’ scholastic and vocational achievements/ability and their explanation of how their chosen career is important to and will benefit rural North Dakota, as this was Harold and Anna Bergstrom’s intent.

Since inception, the fund has awarded $190,000 in scholarships.
