Manchester United have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Fenerbahce left-back Ferdi Kadioglu and a meeting with his camp is set to take place in the near future.

The left-back position is an area United are eager to bolster ahead of the upcoming season. Last term, the Red Devils had to endure large parts of the campaign without a natural left-sided full-back as a result of the prolonged absences of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia due to injury.

Shaw was limited to just 12 Premier League appearances. Meanwhile, Malacia didn’t get even a minute of action due to a physical setback sustained before the campaign kicked off.

One of the options mentioned to be on United’s radar is Kadioglu.

A previous report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that United are interested in Kadioglu, who is valued at €30 million.

The 24-year-old was a standout player for Fenerbahce and earned praise for his impressive displays both defensively and going forward.

He contributed towards eight goals in 51 club matches as his side managed to secure a runners-up spot in the Turkish top flight.

Kadioglo also starred in the ongoing Euro 2024 before Turkey’s elimination at the hands of the Netherlands in the quarter-final stage.

Journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu has now claimed that United are “seriously interested” in Kadioglu and are prepared to accelerate their efforts to recruit him.

Sabuncuoğlu noted that the Red Devils are yet to contact Fenerbahçe or even make an offer for their left-back but he’s definitely on their transfer wishlist.

United will hold a meeting with Kadioglu’s representatives in the coming days to explore the possibility of getting a deal over the line.

Kadioglu is contracted to Fenerbahçe until June 2026.
