Manchester United are bracing themselves for offers for Christian Eriksen amid their own search for midfield reinforcements.
The Denmark international, who joined United on a free transfer after leaving Brentford in the summer of 2022, enjoyed a great start to his time at Old Trafford.
In Erik ten Hag’s maiden season, Eriksen seamlessly slotted alongside Casemiro, making a staggering 28 appearances in the Premier League. He impressively managed to rack up eight assists in the league.
However, the last season was far from impressive for the Dane, who gradually lost his place to academy product Kobbie Mainoo. He, in turn, is now one of the first names on Ten Hag’s team sheet.
Things are unlikely to improve this term for Eriksen, with United in the market for a new midfielder to partner Mainoo. The veteran midfielder remained an unused substitute in the Community Shield at Wembley.
Amid this, Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has shared an update on the former Tottenham Hotspur star’s situation at Old Trafford.
It is claimed the Red Devils are expecting formal bids for the 32-year-old. A number of clubs have “explored conditions of a deal.”

With Eriksen entering the final year of his contract, this is most likely United’s final opportunity to make any money from his move.
It has been earlier claimed that the Mancunian giants would be willing to part ways with Eriksen for as little as €5 million — a bargain for the technically proficient midfielder with an eye for defence-splitting passes.
In the same update, Sheth adds that United are prioritising strengthening their midfield. However, the side’s budget and space in Ten Hag’s squad is expected to have a big say in any move.
Manuel Ugarte, Sander Berge, and Sofyan Amrabat all remain on United’s shortlist.
Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United are set to hold talks with super agent Jorge Mendes for Ugarte, as they attempt to find a solution amid their struggle to reach an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain over a fee.
