Manchester United have “positioned themselves” to make a move for Martin Baturina, as per reports from Germany.
United’s outstanding performance in the League Cup, which saw them put seven goals past Barnsley suggested Erik ten Hag is not short of creative outlets in his squad.
However, it is no secret that Ten Hag still needs more creative stars to ensure the Red Devils deliver such goal-fests on a regular basis and against more competent opponents.
In that regard, Baturina has emerged on United’s radar, having impressed with his passing range and ability to glide through players in tight spaces.
The 21-year-old has assisted five goals in just eight appearances for Dinamo Zagreb this season.
Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United and Real Madrid are following the Dinamo jewel.
Now, Sky Deutschland journalist Patrick Berger is also reporting the same, stating both European powerhouses have “positioned themselves” to sign the midfielder.
Berger has revealed the likes of Atletico Madrid, Fiorentina, and AS Roma tried to sign the player during the recently concluded summer transfer window.

However, he turned down all offers to continue his development in Zagreb, where he is tied to a contract until 2028.
Interestingly, Berger further claimed that the Croatia international could “take the next step” and leave in the summer of 2025 despite his contract not including a release clause.
Luka Modric is believed to have urged Los Blancos to lure his fellow countryman to Santiago Bernabeu. It will be interesting to see how the Croatian legend’s wish would influence the transfer battle for the country’s next big talent.
United, meanwhile, recently underlined they are capable of beating Madrid in the transfer market by signing sought-after centre-back Leny Yoro from Lille this summer.
