Manchester United star Lucia Garcia is reportedly set to leave the club to join Mexico’s Monterrey this summer.

In a devastating blow for United, Garcia’s time at Old Trafford appears to have come to an end and she will leave when her contract expires.

He has been at United for two years.

Back in March, head coach Marc Skinner revealed that talks were ongoing between the club and Garcia over a new contract, but those efforts appear to have been unproductive.

According to journalist Diego Armando Medina, Monterrey is not satisfied with winning the title and has already secured the “bomb” of the summer – Garcia.

The 25-year-old is ready to be the last chance for the Liga MX Femenil.

Her acquisition is seen as a big swing as she is still in her prime.

The BBC adds that Garcia was keen to stay at United, but after Monterrey made a very lucrative financial package, she simply couldn’t turn it down.

The paper explains that the paperwork is being completed for Garcia to join Las Rayadas.

Meanwhile, United have identified potential replacements for Garcia, such as Brighton’s Elisabeth Terland, who is also out of contract this summer.

However, the Reds’ approach to Terland is still in its early stages and she has a number of options on the table.

Garcia was part of the United side that beat Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 earlier this month to win the FA Cup – the first major trophy for the women’s team.

In fact, Garcia scored twice as her side led Spurs to a Wembley match.
