The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced a number of roster moves on the CFL deadline for cuts — including the release of a few veterans.
Quarterback Mason Fine was one of the team’s cuts. The pivot was entering his fourth CFL season, all with the Riders. He signed a two-year extension in the offseason.
Fine has dressed for 32 games in his CFL career, mostly as a backup. He has thrown for 1,797 yards. six touchdowns and eight interceptions.
The team also released quarterback Antonio Pipkin, who was brought in last season to handle short-yardage situations. That leaves Shea Patterson and Jack Coan as the team’s quarterbacks behind starter Trevor Harris.
