Atlanta United and Charlotte FC have only played each other four times. Atlanta has a record of 2-2-0 against Charlotte. The last meeting between the two clubs ended in a 1-3 win for Charlotte. Earlier last year, Atlanta also beat Charlotte away with a score of 3-0. This will be the first meeting between the two clubs this year.

Atlanta United is coming to the match after a strong performance away at Inter Miami with Saba Lobjanidze scoring a brace, and Jamal Thiaré securing the victory and scoring Atlanta’s 400th regular season goal in club history. It was Atlanta’s first win after nine matches in MLS play. Charlotte comes to the match after losing 3-1 in their visit to the New York Red Bulls, they were unbeaten in the four matches before that.

Saba Lobjanidze (Atlanta United) – The Georgian international earned his first MLS Player of the Matchday award following his first brace with ATL UTD on Wednesday against Miami. Lobjanidze was joined by Stian Gregersen and head coach Gonzalo Pineda on the MLS Team of the Matchday 17. Tristan Muyumba earned on a spot on the Team of Matchday 17 bench.

Patrick Agyemang (Charlotte) – The 23 year-old striker is Charlotte’s leading scorer this season with three goals and has started in every single match in the last six macthes. His last goal came vs our other Souther rival, Nashville SC, in Charlotte’s 1-0 win on May 11.
