The MaxPreps National High School Football Record Book is the culmination of decades of research by California-based historian and writer Kevin Askeland. With the addition of team records in the coming months, it will be the most comprehensive, up-to-date statistical compilation available.

The current menu includes single game, single season and career records in 14 categories, featuring names like Joe Burrow and Derrick Henry, as well as seemingly unbreakable marks like Ben Mauk’s 6,540 passing yards in 2002.

The MaxPreps National High School Football Record Book would not be possible without the work completed by the following people and organizations: National Federation of High Schools Record Book, state association record books, football coaches association record books, Mark Tennis and Nelson Tennis and the Cal-Hi Sports Record Book, Buddy Collings of FloridaPrepRecords, Todd Holcomb, Loren Maxwell and the Georgia High School Football Historians Association, Hawaii Prep World, Jerry Byrd of Louisiana, Ron Pesch of Michigan, The Clarion-Ledger of Mississippi, RealRay record book of Missouri, Jerry Mathers, Stu Pospisil of Nebraska, New York Sportswriters Association, Chuck Langerman of New Jersey, Ray Soldan of Oklahoma, Chris Wilfong of IWasAtThegame.com, Doug Calvert, Mal Van Meer of Oregon, PIAA wikipedia page, Joe Lee Smith’s Texas High School Football History, George Felt of Utah, David Maley of Washington, Doug Huff of West Virginia, Kevin Patrowsky of Wisconsin and Wyoming Football Records.
