Milos Kerkez wants to leave AFC Bournemouth this summer after falling out with manager Andoni Iraola, according to a new report.

Intrepid Daily Record reporter Duncan Castles took to the airwaves to explain the developments in the race for the hugely talented Hungarian international.

Manchester United are understood to be in the market for a new left-back this summer amid ongoing injury woes with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacio out for the entire 2023/24 season to freak injury.

As a result, they have been heavily linked with the 20-year-old, who was outstanding for the Cherries last season.

Speaking about Transfers PodcastCastles explained that Bournemouth may be looking to sell a number of their players this summer and while they do not want to part with the youngster, there are issues that suggest he could be on the way.

“He’s being followed by Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, they’re all looking for a left-back,” Castles said.

“Super athletic, very good attack, but questionable tactically.

“Andoni Iraola was not particularly happy with Kerkez from a tactical perspective, there was a bit of a dispute between him and the players.

“The player is not particularly happy with Bournemouth as he has been sent off and left out of some games even though he thinks he played well.

“There is an opportunity to take advantage of that if the club is willing to come in for a very high fee.”

As for the exact amount Bournemouth are asking for, Castles says he has been told “they don’t want to sell and it’s not available and it would take at least £40m to get him out”.

However, if the player is upset and the manager has doubts, it could force the south coast’s hand a bit.

“His father is very involved and very keen to get it going,” the reporter adds.

With Arsenal able to offer Champions League football and Chelsea’s seemingly bottomless pockets and flagrant disregard for profit and sustainability rules, United’s chances of landing the Hungarian look slim. However, he certainly fits into Ineos’ plan for young breakthrough talent and, budget permitting, there will almost certainly be competition for him as the summer unfolds.
