Major League Soccer is reviewing a video published in an Argentine outlet purportedly showing Minnesota United midfielder Emanuel Reynoso alongside an individual brandishing a gun, a league spokesperson told The Athletic.
The cell phone video, published by El Doce TV on Tuesday, shows Reynoso alongside an individual who appears to be holding stacks of cash and brandishing a firearm (it is unclear if the gun is a fake). Reynoso is also seen holding a bag of cash. The video ends shortly after the unnamed male points the object towards the camera.

Emanuel Reynoso’s Minnesota United absence could result in a summer transfer
El Doce is a regional media outlet based in Córdoba, Argentina, which is Reynoso’s hometown. The story that ran alongside the video cited unnamed sources who claimed that the incident occurred during Reynoso’s most recent trip back to Argentina. El Doce identified the person who sent the video as a resident of the Almirante Brown neighborhood of Córboba who had asked to remain anonymous.
“We’re tired of (Reynoso) and his friends who get together on a neighborhood corner,” the source said. “They make a mess every time they come to the neighborhood.”
Minnesota United has decided to move on from Reynoso thanks in large part to multiple extended and unexcused absences. The Athletic reported on Tuesday that a deal was in the works to send the midfielder to Mexico’s Club Tijuana.
