Former Maryland quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League on Monday, the team announced.
Tagovailoa went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft despite having one of the most prolific careers by a Big Ten passer. He set the conference record for career passing yards with 11,256. In 2023, he was named to the second team All-Big Ten after leading the conference in passing yards (3,377), passing touchdowns (25), completions (290) and points responsible for (182).
Following the draft, Tagovailoa participated in minicamps with the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks.
In Hamilton, Tagovailoa will be coached by fellow former Maryland quarterback Scott Milanovich. Milanovich, now the head coach of the Tiger-Cats, was also a standout at College Park, ranking second in program history with 7,301 passing yards.
