Franco Colapinto’s second full F1 race weekend got off to a bumpy start as he collided with the wall in Baku, bringing out the red flags for a third time in FP1 after Charles Leclerc’s earlier collision and a separate incident to clear debris.

The Williams youngster, who was brought in for Logan Sargeant for the remainder of the 2024 season ahead of the Italian Grand Prix, lost the back end of his car on entry to Turn 4 before sliding side-on into the barriers.

“Really sorry guys,” said the Argentinian driver, with Williams now facing the task of repairing the car before second practice at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix weekend.
