The Windy City will go street racing featuring the world’s premier stock cars, courtesy of NASCAR on July 6th & 7th. For only the second time, the Grant Park 165 Street Race (Sunday) will run through Downtown Chicago with the Loop 110 Xfinity race (Saturday) to promise a spectacular affair.

Last year, torrential downpours and the Supercars driver Shane van Gisbergen surprised the Second City, as the Kiwi won his NASCAR debut at the inaugural Chicago Street Race. It was a pretty exciting day for firsts! However, that event was cut short to 171.3 miles (78 laps) from its originally scheduled 220 laps because of ensuing darkness. This year, NASCAR & the city of Chicago have decided to shorten the race to 165 miles or 75 laps to ensure its completion under daylight with enthralling views of the city’s skyline.
