Black Stars winger Osman Bukari has made his Major League Soccer (MLS) debut after joining Austin FC in June.
Bukari, who joined Austin from Serbian side Red Star Belgrade, started in Austin FC’s 2-2 draw with Charlotte FC; Austin entered the contest after losing 3-1 to Dallas FC in the immediate past.
Bukari lasted 57 minutes in the game before being replaced by Owen Wolff after having 30 touches and successfully completing 15 of 21 passes.
The 25-year-old Bukari connected with a teammate on the cross in three attempts, while winning three of five duels on the ground and successfully completing three dribbles from four attempts.
It was a fine outing for the speedy winger, who became the latest Black Stars player to move from Europe to MLS after Joseph Paintsil traded Belgian side KRC Genk for the Los Angeles Galaxy.
Paintsil returned to form after an injury layoff as he scored a goal and provided two assists for the second straight game in the Galaxy’s 3-2 win over the Portland Timbers. (Click the highlighted text to read the full story)
