Black Stars winger Osman Bukari made his Major League Soccer (MLS) debut for Austin FC after signing for the team in June.

Bukari played 57 minutes in Austin’s 2-2 draw with Charlotte FC as a starter, marking his first ever appearance for the club after joining from Red Star Belgrade in Serbia. (Click the highlighted text to read the full story)

Speaking in a postgame presser, Austin FC head coach Josh Wolff praised Bukar’s feats in the game considering his lack of a preseason run with the team.

“I think that Buka (Osman Bukari), still has some qualities that will be unbalanced. I think straight away he changed gears, he certainly came out of the corner a few times and I think Gyasi (Zardes) is on the end of it, if he gets it right it’s a fantastic start to the game, but all in all he did well.”

“I think the more he gets to know the group and the more the group gets to know him and his unique qualities, the better he’s going to be.”

Bukari is in line to feature in Austin’s next game on July 27 in the League Cup.
