FC Dallas had no problem beating Austin FC at home in the 24th match of the MLS midweek, with the Toros cruising to a 4-1 victory at Toyota Stadium.

The tone of the game, favoring Dallas, took a turn in the 50th minute when the home team were awarded a penalty for a chance to regain the lead.

Star Croatian striker Petar Musa stepped up to the spot looking to continue his scoring streak but fell short after a strong save from Brad Stuver. Austin FC’s Cascante, who was seen talking to the Croatian before the shot, celebrated in front of Musa after Stuver’s save.

However, the save would be canceled out as Stuver came off his line before Musa connected with the ball, again sending Musa to the spot for a second penalty kick. And he didn’t miss a double chance to hit the net.

After giving Dallas the lead, Musa would go on to return the ‘mock celebration’ to Cascante, celebrating in front of the Costa Rican’s face and doing so until he was separated from the other players. Dallas’ Nkosi Safari also joined in on the fun.

Musa would be punished by the referee, with the sequence ending in another heated moment that remained so. An MLS moment if ever there was one.

Musa’s penalty conversion marks the Croatian’s fourth goal in his last four games, averaging a goal per game under interim coach Peter Luccin – giving him his best scoring streak since coming to MLS from SL Benfica this season.

Kaskante laughed first, but Musa laughed louder.
