It might have been Lando Norris who started from pole position at the Dutch Grand Prix but it was advantage Max Verstappen when the lights went out for the 72-lap race.

In what was a disappointing start for McLaren, Norris was slow off the line as the Red Bull of Verstappen steamed ahead to take the lead into Turn 1, while Oscar Piastri lost a position to George Russell in the Mercedes behind, dropping the Australian back to fourth.

While Verstappen started to stretch out an early gap from Norris, Piastri soon found himself under further pressure from Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc.
