Manchester United assistant coach Ruben Amorim is reportedly set to leave the club once Ruben Amorim’s appointment officially gets over the line.

United have agreed a deal with Sporting Lisbon for Amorim to seal a switch to Old Trafford as a replacement for Erik ten Hag.

It’s understood that Amorim will arrive with a number of his coaches and sports scientists, as he looks to hit the ground running in England.

A previous report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that while the Portuguese tactician will be accompanied by his own people, he remains keen to keep existing coaches who are already aware of how things run and events that transpired before his arrival.

It was stated that Amorim will have talks about retaining United’s existing backroom staff.

There was speculation that interim United boss Ruud van Nistelrooy – who led the Red Devils to a big Carabao Cup victory over Leicester City on Wednesday night – was expected to part ways with the club. However, he poured cold water on such suggestions, reiterating his desire to remain on board and help the next manager in any capacity.

According to FootballTransfers, it looks like Hake will be axed. Like Van Nistelrooy, Hake joined United in the summer as part of INEOS’ coaching reshuffle.

The 20-time English champions secured his services from Eredivisie outfit Go Ahead Eagles, where he was the manager.

FootballTransfers reveal, “Manchester United are expected to see the exit of Rene Hake once Ruben Amorim comes in as the club’s head coach.”

The Daily Mail’s Sami Mokbel also points out, “Meanwhile, Manchester United coach Rene Hake’s position at the club is in doubt following the sacking of Ten Hag.”

“Hake, who is one of Ten Hag’s closest confidants, assisted interim head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy in the 5-2 Carabao Cup win over Leicester on Wednesday night.”

“But there is an expectation in the Netherlands that Hake, given his bond with Ten Hag, will leave Old Trafford once Amorim and his coaching staff are in place.”

United return to Premier League action on Sunday when they host Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea.
