Spanish defender Sergio Ramos is set to make his next major career move this summer.
The 38-year-old is set to depart his boyhood club Sevilla after a one-season return in 2023-24.
Ramos is now exploring various options for the future of his career, including a potential move to MLS, where his longtime La Liga rival turned PSG teammate Lionel Messi currently plays for Inter Miami.
The defender’s agent and brother, René Ramos, reportedly traveled to the United States during the spring to meet with potential MLS clubs for Ramos.

The most intriguing proposal came from San Diego FC, an expansion team set to enter the league in 2025.
However, it remains to be seen if Ramos will sign a deal with San Diego. Many other clubs are also interested, including some from the Saudi Pro League, where former teammates Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema are currently playing.
Sergio Ramos leaves Sevilla again
Widely regarded as one of the greatest defenders of all time, Ramos returned to his boyhood club Sevilla for the 2023-24 season after spending the previous two seasons with French club Paris Saint-Germain.
Last season, Ramos scored seven goals and provided one assist in 37 appearances. He first joined Sevilla’s youth academy in 1996 and made his senior debut for the club in 2004.
The Sevilla native was then sold to Spanish giants Real Madrid in 2005 for a record fee for a Spanish defender worth around $30 million. He spent the majority of his career there until 2021.
