HAMZAH SHEERAZ believes Turki Alalshikh will pay the money Chris Eubank Jr wants to fight the unbeaten middleweight.

Sheeraz is in an enviable position. Talk of a potential fight against Eubank continues, but the 25-year-old also has the option to face WBO world champion Zhanibek Alimkhanuly or defend his European title against Denzel Bentley.

However, a fight against Eubank continues to appeal to Sheeraz and when speaking to Boxing News he certainly appeared confident they will fight one day.

“I think it will and if you ask me this without His Excellency’s backing I’d say no chance, no chance but he’s a man who makes it happen,” Sheeraz said.

“I feel like he’s [Alalshikh] getting a liking for this fight. The public are demanding it. Every time they do an interview with Chris my name’s mentioned and he don’t know where to look.

“He acts like he didn’t watch my last fight when he was there ringside. It’s an interesting one how he’s playing his cards, but we’ll definitely get in the ring.”

Eubank was indeed at Wembley Stadium on the night Sheeraz won the EBU title in a style we’ve become accustomed to. Tyler Denny lasted only two rounds after another demolition job from Sheeraz.

The champion’s promoter Frank Warren recently went public stating Eubank Jr had turned down an offer of five million to fight Sheeraz. Is Eubank trying to price himself out?

“You could say so but then His Excellency and the team would turn around and give him what he wants and then what’s he going to do,” Sheeraz wondered.

“You got to accept the fight that way then. If he doesn’t then it’s dead in the water after that. I think he’s playing his cards from a business point of view. I don’t blame him. Fair enough, happy days. He wants to maximise his last few years in the sport but I think a fight with me will definitely make sense.”
