Auburn coach Hugh Freeze will arrive late in Lexington for Saturday’s game against Kentucky after contracting an illness, sources told ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
Sources said Freese did not travel with the Tigers on Friday after falling ill, possibly due to food poisoning. He will travel to join his team on Saturday morning before kickoff at 7:45pm ET.
Auburn is in the midst of a four-game losing streak since the start of SEC play. It is the first time in school history that the Tigers have started conference play 0-4 in consecutive years.
“It seems like we don’t make the right decision as coaches or make the right play from time to time in critical moments, and that’s been the story all year,” Freese said after Auburn blew a 17-6 lead over Missouri last week. Loss 21-17.
