There was a lot to take in as Liverpool Football Club bid farewell to Jurgen Klopp, his coaches and two players, and the occasion proved incredibly emotional.

The Reds signed off the Klopp era with a win, but we all know that 90 minutes took a backseat to the farewells we had to say.

Manager – we can still say that, can’t we? – gave a powerful speech after the 2-0 win, which followed the moving of the guard of honor for Thiago, Joel Matip and his outgoing coaching staff.

There was a lot to take in and we wouldn’t be surprised if you missed a few things, so here’s a quick recap!

Pep with a fist pump!

The penultimate guard of honor was for Pep Lijnders and he made sure he made the most of it, giving Anfield some of his last fists with gusto!

The assistant manager lived by the motto that ‘Liverpool’s identity is intensity’. We wish him all the best as he takes on the role of Salzburg’s new manager.

Trent in tears

A sight that would break the most emotionally inaccessible, Trent Alexander-Arnold with tears streaming down his face as he stood in front of the Kop while singing YNWA.

Klopp is everything he knows at Anfield, the manager who believed in him and made his dreams come true. He was all of us in that moment, the emotions became too much to contain.

We’re right there with you, Trent!

Honor Guard 2.0

The first honor guard was so good that Klopp had to experience it twice!

Maybe he wasn’t ready to let the moment pass so quickly and we were totally fine with that – and obviously Virgil was too.

Virgil has a new occupation!

The captain made sure to capture the moment in history with his camera and we would love to see it through his eyes – maybe in the coming days!

Van Dijk quickly began documenting, but not before an emotional exchange with Jürgen that brought tears to his eyes and no doubt some moving words.

If you didn’t cry before, you must cry now.

Ulla is one of us

Jurgen’s wife, Ulla, has been his biggest supporter during his time at Anfield, and actually stopped the German from quitting last season.

We have a lot to thank her for, and at Enfield she rode an emotional roller coaster with us every step of the way!

Jurgen and Ulla, You will never walk alone.
