USC quarterback Makai Lemon exited Saturday’s 27-24 loss to Michigan with an apparent injury after taking a hard hit on a first-half return.

Lemon did not return to the game and was taken away in an ambulance, according to CBS Radio. USC did not provide an official update on Lemon’s condition until after the game.

The 24-year-old spent a significant amount of time lying on the field after the injury, surrounded by several members of the USC coaching staff and trainers, before leaving the field on his own. He entered the injury tent and was then taken to the locker room.

Midfielder Lake McCree also left the game in the second half with an apparent injury to his left leg. The broadcast showed McCree looking visibly emotional on the bench before heading down the tunnel to the dressing room.

McCree has been a mainstay in USC’s offense early on, recording 137 yards on nine receptions so far this season.

Lemon has caught four passes for 45 yards and one score for USC this season. Last year, Lemon played wide receiver and linebacker. As a receiver, Lemon has caught six passes for 88 yards.
