The Cougars and Beavers will play a football schedule against mostly Mountain West Conference opponents in the upcoming season. They will compete as affiliate members of the West Coast Conference in most other sports.

Washington State will also compete in baseball and women’s swimming as an affiliate member of the Mountain West.

During McCoy’s tenure as interim athletic director, he led the search that culminated in the hiring of David Riley as men’s basketball coach and the signing of women’s basketball coach Kami Ethridge to a contract extension.

“Washington State University is an amazing and special place that has been a huge part of our family for over 23 years. It’s home,” McCoy said. “It is an honor to serve this institution with its remarkable history and I do not take it lightly.”
