Major League Soccer’s hottest forward could be seen by millions this weekend as he looks to extend his lead at the top of the scoring charts.
Real Salt Lake and Cristian “Chicho” Arango hit the road to visit FC Dallas on Saturday, May 25 from Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. Arango scored another two goals in Real Salt Lake’s 5-3 win last weekend against Colorado, taking his season total to a league-leading 13 goals. Arango has four goals in his last three games and looks to be a terrific signing by Pablo Mastroeni since returning to MLS.
While Arango has been lethal in front of goal, Mastroeni has his side playing his patented tenacious, tough defense, only allowing 14 goals through 14 games. It’s helped Real Salt Lake rise to first place in the Western Conference.
FC Dallas on the other hand has been led up top by Petar Musa, while U.S. Men’s National Team striker Jesus Ferreira has been in and out of the lineup with a hamstring injury. Even so, he has two goals and two assists in just four starts this season.
The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this game, including how to watch it across the world, kickoff times and the latest lineup news.

FC Dallas vs. Real Salt Lake lineups, team news
FC Dallas is dealing with two crucial long-term injuries this season. Alan Velasco is on the way back from a torn ACL, suffered late last season, while Paxton Pomykal played just seven minutes this year before suffering a season-ending knee injury. Both playmakers would have given FC Dallas depth and more skill in the attacking third, but instead it’s been a huge miss and now forced Ferreira to play out wide when healthy.
FC Dallas projected starting lineup (3-4-3): Paes (GK) — Ibeagha, Tafari, Junqua — Twumasi, Norris, Delgado, Farfan — Kamungo, Musa, Ferreira.
FC Dallas subs (9): (Lineups released one hour prior to kickoff)
Real Salt Lake saw Andrew Brody and Bryan Oviedo both play despite being listed as questionable, so it’s likely that they’ll both be available for action this weekend. However, defenders Bode Hidalgo and Bryan Vera are both listed as questionable for this weekend.
Real Salt Lake projected starting lineup (4-2-3-1): MacMath (GK) — Brody, Glad, Vera, Oviedo — Eneli, Ojeda — Gomez, Crooks, Luna —Arango.
Real Salt Lake subs (9): (Lineups released one hour prior to kickoff)
FC Dallas vs. Real Salt Lake prediction
The form that Chicho Arango is in is such that it will be tough for anyone to stop him, especially a team in FC Dallas that is averaging nearly two goals allowed per game. Real Salt Lake should continue its hold on the Western Conference standings for at least another week with a comfortable win.
