Each week during the 2024 MLS season, Soccer America is selecting the three young American stars of the week, under-23 players (born on or after Jan. 1, 2001) who stood out over the previous week.

2. Duncan McGuire (Orlando City), 3 pts. The 23-year-old forward drew the Lions even at Philadelphia, scoring on a header from a cross by Luis Muriel, who scored the second and third goal in the 3-2 win. McGuire leads Orlando City with five goals.

3. Obed Vargas (Seattle), 1 pt. The 18-year-old Alaskan set up Raul Ruidiaz for the go-ahead goal in the Sounders’ 2-1 win over the Portland Timbers at Providence Park.
