Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow has admitted he is ready to make a move to a new club away from Holland amid links with Premier League sides including Manchester United.
Last summer, Bijlow was a particular target for United as the club parted ways with David de Gea after 12 years of loyal service.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has even reported that United have held talks with Feyenoord over the potential signing of Bijlow.
Needless to say, the move never materialized and the Red Devils instead secured the services of Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir.
However, there have been rumblings that United could re-enter the market for a new centre-back, particularly if Bayindir leaves Old Trafford.
The Turkey international, who has made just one appearance for United, is thought to be unhappy with his situation at the club and could be looking for a new challenge just 12 months after joining. This is where Bijlow could potentially come in.
Bijlow – who has eight caps for the Netherlands – is also thought to be on the radar of Arsenal and Liverpool. The Liverpool links are particularly interesting given that Arne Slott, who was previously manager at Feyenoord, succeeded Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.
Bijlow opened for Voetbal Zone (via Football365) and referred to the growing interest in him.
The 26-year-old said: “These are two very good clubs. Of course, it’s always nice to be mentioned in big clubs. What I’m just saying: I’m ambitious. As long as I play for Feyenoord, I will give everything for it and I want to focus on the Dutch team first.”
“Would I stay at Feyenoord? You never know, do you? That’s football. You don’t know that. I’m ambitious, I’ve always said that.”
He added: “If the opportunity arises and a good club from abroad comes, I’m open to it.” I’ve always said that.”
“As long as I’m under contract with Feyenoord, it’s never a penalty and I’ll give everything while I play there.”
Bijlow made 17 appearances in the Eredivisie in the 2023/24 season and managed to keep eight clean sheets during that time.
